How to host your TPB index copy

If you decided to download a copy of thepiratebay here’s how to set up:

This tutorial include both, windows and linux explanations.

Basicly you need just “tpb.db”, other required files are here.

-I assume that most people have apache as web server.
(if you don’t have download from here)
-Create a folder “tpb” in htdocs or www folder
-add content to tpb folder (download here, here or here)
-with a text editor edit config.php

$dbfile = “path to your tpb.db file”;
$siteurl = “http://wwwX.btarena.net/”; (edit X with a number i will give to you)

-Open with notepad or any text editor apache\conf\httpd.conf (for windows users), /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf (for linux users)
be sure you have this line like this (without #)
LoadModule rewrite_module modules/mod_rewrite.so


ServerName wwwX.btarena.net
DocumentRoot “path to your files” ex. c:\apache\htdocs\tpb or /var/www/html/tpb

btarena.net=tpb copy

send me a PM with your server ip
restart apache

Now everyone can access your copy via www.btarena.net

hey i downloaded the index and your files, and my copy is know running on localhost but my htaccess seems broken http://127.0.0.1/browse.php is fine but on http://127.0.0.1/browse i get 404, Any idea?

yeah mod rewrite is enabled but i diden’t see the lighthttp.conf

lighthttp.conf it’s for lighttpd, not for apache.
what web server do you use ?

So I got it setup and everything but when I click on a torrent it always gives me a error (details.php, line 39) and the torrent is broken.

i think you don’t fully download tpb.db (re check torrent)
be sure you got 100% and set correct path to file in config.php

tpb.db is 100% and I know that I have it correct in the config cause if you don’t you wont be able to access the site at all.
