Microsoft said few times we will don’t have DirectX 10 for Windows XP, only for Vista.

Few russians tried to make a version for XP and until now released a RC1 and now a RC2 version. Info here, (it’s in russian). I don’t try it, maybe next week

edit: install now

So, it’s working, Enjoy! (and it’s in english, just the installer is in russian)

WHOAAAAAAA!!! :)
XP rules!
Vista sucks, man!
All the goodies of DX10 are outnumbered by the outrageous number of frustrations Vista is delivering…
Microsoft should make a separate version of XP for DX10, just for gamers.

yeah, first i need to get a better processor and some ram
to play games at full capacity or a new PC :P

can anyone please add a mirror for the file to download. because i cant download using rapidshare..please Thanks A Lot!

Has anyone actually tried this yet?

I have heard it doesn’t work with Crysis.

I have also heard people say it offers an improvement in fps on Dx9 based games.

Basically I have heard alot of unconfirmed BS!

Would be nice to get some more feedback so we can start using this or fix it.

thnx for registration

thanks this was the last website that actually worked,, thanks allot,, i appreciate it

Hi there,
I really appreciate your work [Developers and hosts].
Would you kindly host the files using some other host, rapidshare never lets to download any files. Use some free file hosts like Filefront to host your files please!!!!!

oh i just see the new method to download from rapidshare, it’s horrible…
i add 2 mirrors :)

Checking this out now. To the poster who said MS should make a dx10 for xp, theres a reason for it, they want u to buy Vista! Not that i can blame them. Either way, looking forward to checkin this out.

the beast says

ok so im gonna try it now, but it prob wont work, it seems to good to be true.

Hey! everybody try “gogu”’s Suggestion that actually works but this directx 10 may not suitable for Race Driver:GRID

doesn’t look like dx10 on xp offer any improvement that is worth the potential headaches. I’ll pass for now

has anyone tested any games succesffully , if so post the games that worked

Crysis works you just have to switch some files, everything is explained in readme file but its on russian so find some program to translate it and then it’s easy, worked for me. It’s great but on my 8600gt it runs on only ~15fps

Wow im so glad I found this blog this post helped me alot.

What we are asking is this…

1. Does it offer Improved Game Quality?
2. Does it offer Improves Frames Per Second(FPS)?
3. Can it be UNINSTALLED easily in case it doesnt work?

It would be great to have this Information at hand.

Thanks,

Shaun

1. just a little
2. depends on your hardware
3. yes

You must have a DirectX 10 graphics card to see an improvement. Nvidia 8 series or higher or ATI 2000 series or higher.

IT WORKS!
installed RC2 fix2 ‘dx10_xp[btarena.org].exe’

Intel Q6600
ASROCK 4coredual sata2
Windows XP SP3
ATI 3870 DX10 Card (mobo limits pci-e @ 4x)
DXDiag.exe reports version 10.0
Crysis runs nice and smooth, cod4 framerates have increased. Not sure if dx10 has any bearing on this.

KJZIju hi webmastters

Okay. Update to my last comment. It turns out that DXDiag reports version DX10 is installed, but… my games don’t let me choose dx10 as an option. :(

oh yeah fuck me ass direct 10 xp fuck me fuck fuck fuck oh eyah baby come on baby

I can’t believe you jokers believe this shit. Windows XP lacks the API’s necessary to utilize DirectX 10 technology. Anything to hold onto Windows eXPired I guess.

all you have to do is open dxdiag… then enable it.. when you install dx10 the dxsettings will be automatically disabled…

hope in works on you…
