I think there is a way around that, Do you know the region of the expansion? the actual number? There is 7 regions and if you can edit your sims3 info in the registry to match the expansions region it might work, I had to do it a few times while updating.

I installed SIms 3 again, patched it to 1.46, then downloaded the new patch 1.66, and installed WA. My region is 2.

To change your region code:
1) Type ‘regedit’ in Run
2) Go to: H-Key-Local-Machine \ Software \ Sims \ The Sims 3
3) Double click on SKU and change the SKU Value to ‘2′

This worked for my U.S. retail version of TS3

Erm… jus downloaded it from rapidshare and when it trys to run the 1.5 patch, jus at the end it says error: update of the sims 3 failed. setup is unable to continue. is this because i have the razor edition which has been patched to 1.4.6.00002!! please help and i have tried removing the mods i even moved the downloads. HELP!!

sky, a lot of us are having this issue. There seemingly isn’t a release to patch the game with 1.5/1.6 with a crack up yet.

Guys… to play this game you need to reinstall the sims 3 not copying the crack in the bin file…. update your game with the sims 3 launcher… then install world andventures and play…. I did it like this and I am already playing,

You need to dig down an extra folder into the “Wow6432Node” in regedit. The rest of the folder hierarchy should be the same.

draga, good advice. Didn’t need reinstall, I kept all the original files, the .dll and .exe put the old .dll and .exe back in the game/bin then it should install fine. You don’t need that crack anymore because the game will run off the new expansion’s crack.

Thanks!! Basically heres what you do!! you copy the ‘Electronic Arts’ folder to your desktop. Then copy the ‘Mods’ folder in C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3. Then you uninstall the Sims 3 and install it again then do not add the crack. Then open the launcher and click updates and let it update. When its done you can then install THE SIMS 3 WORLD ADVENTURES!!

Okay. I’ve finally finished the torrent and I have 32 .rar files, all named RLD, s3WA. I also have a bunch more files numbered 30-53 and a file just named reloaded.
I have no idea if this is right or what to do now… Anybody got a solution for me? >.<

Thanks for everything but i have a problem. I’ve installed the expansion but even if I’ve overwrited the files in the crack folder, the expansion doesn’t work!

So I’ve tried a bunch of stuff including completely deleting all current SIMS 3 files and reinstalling them, but I cannot upgrade SIMS 3 and continually get the compatibility error. Can someone help me find the patch or fix this issue, I’m using a Mac btw.

Just follow the whole walk through, mine worked with this. Hope it’ll work for your guys too.

Walkthrough how to install world adventures!

1. Install the Sims 3 (If you have the razor release skip to part 4, if you have the beta also known as The Sims 3 reloaded continue to step 2)
2. If you have The Sims 3 beta (reloaded version) you need to download this file http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/4915142/Sims_3.from_RELOADED_to_RAZOR_release_patch_GTI
this will update you curent beta version to a retail version (Razor release)
3. Unpack the file you just downloaded in step 2 and replace all the files with the ones in The Sims 3 Directory.
4. You should now be on version 1.0.631.00002, next you want to open The Sims 3 World Adventures (mine was a .iso so i will go by that)
5. Once you have The Sims 3 (where you installed) and The Sims 3 World Adventures (where you downloaded the files to) find the Help Pages on both.
6. Take the help pages from World Adventures and Copy + Paste them into The Sims 3 folder. It should then ask you if you want to replace the files currently there click yes.
7. Ok almost done, now you want to download the 3 patches stated below from here http://www.mininova.org/det/2941689 . Make sure you run them in the right order or your game may not work.
8. Find Regedit (vista users just type in start bar) and do this Regedit –> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE –> SOFTWARE –> THE SIMS 3 –> SKU –> change from 7 to 2
9. Install patch Sims3_1.2.7.00002_from_1.0.631.00002 you should not get any errors if you have followed the instructions correctly. then install patch
sims3_1.3.24.00002_from_1.2.7.00002 and last install patch Sims3_1.4.6.00002_from_1.3.24.00002 once you have installed them all run the sims 3 launcher to make sure its working and check your version. If you have done it correctly
you should now be on version 1.4.6.00002 if so then good you should be able to successfully play! (just one thing left to do)
10.mount World Adventures (i use deamon tools) and go to my computer and run it. it will come up with it needs to update so update it. it should successfully update and then you can install it. once installed place your crack
TS3EP01 and TSLHost (or any crack you have) into World Adventures (this will make it so when you run the game you wont get to the main menu and get the error that ea cant verify its a retail copy)
11. Enjoy!

I bought the sims 3 and downloaded the SWA here. I changed the sku when i load the game it shows the World adventures expansion pack but when it gets to choosing the family it ask for the WA disc. has anyone had that problem any solutions?

I had reloaded installed, used the torrent to update it to razor (1.0.631.00002).
But it still says

hey, guys, i hope someone sees it. i just installed sims 3 wa, and i had the original sims 3 disc. I have the euripean version of the game, so i installed it successfully, it did update, i did the crack, and it launched perfectly. the prob is that when i choose the family to play, it throws me off the game. it just closes by itself..is there anything i could do?

When i inserted into my pc, well, the icon appeared but when i try to autoplay it, it says ” This product requires an installed copy of The Simstm 3.
