does the securom come with this, or has it been taken out?
I am unsure of these directions.

I get the torrent.
I unzip/unrar with my winrar (to my desktop?)
Then I click on exe file? Do I have to replace anything?
Then just play as normal? with nothing else to do with this?

Valerie,you have to go to your C drive and double click on the sims icon on there to install the game.

Ok, I did everything you said but when I went to paste the crack, it says “Cannot copy Sims2EP8: Files on this CD-Rom drive are read only. You cannot copy or move files to this CD-Rom drive. “. I don’t know why it says that because i did everything right?

Well Audrey since you have the game installed, your best bet is to go here:

and just use that file instead. Gamecopyworld is the site I go to for cracks.

i unpacked the file, mounted it with daemon,installed game, and copied crack to tsbin folder. i go to play the game and it starts up, goes thru the intro movie thing, but it stops responding on the apartment life load page. the music keeps playing but nothing will load. what do i need to do now?

I had the same problem before i switch to a newer computer.
type in “dxdiag” (without the “)in ‘Run’ and compare.

i managed to get the game installed, but when i went to play it, it was stuck on the loading screen, and the sound wouldn’t work. now i can’t get my computer to play any sounds at all, no cds, no mp3s, no default sounds, nothing. i’ve checked all my devices, tried speakers and ear plugs, and nothing is working. i uninstalled apartment life to see if that was causing the problem, and rebooted the computer, but still nothing… any suggestions?

Hey. thx very much for tis great dl. I’ve installed it fine and the game starts up perfectly. But when I want to enter a neighbourhood i get a light blue screen. I can click on grounds and family nothing happens .. U know y that is??

Does you computer meet the system requirements.
if it does you may need to defrag, clean up your hard drive and stop unnecessary programs.

Well it downloaded fine, but I can’t unrar it, it says the file is corrupted or broken, or that files are missing. And when I try to mount it on daemon, it doesn’t do anything..Somebody help!

Yeah everything is 100%, all the files and everything. I tried to open one of the files in utorrent, and I tried to extract it and it gets to 4% then a message pops up saying that I need another volume to continue extraction. Does this mean I need to burn the files on a CD/DVD?

I keep getting a DirectX 9 message, but everything is up to date. What should I do?

I tried installing directX9 but it still comes up, can anyone help?

I’m having the same problems with the DirectX. I installed the new driver for my video card (GeForce 8600GT) and I’m still getting the error…any ideas what I can try next?

@Steph, now you have some rar 01,02.. unrar them (with winrar), and you get the image file: rld-s2e8.iso
After mount with daemon-tools or a same program and install

Okay, maybe somebody can help me here. When I mount this expansion pack to Alcohol I get a bad pool caller bsod and then my computer reboots. I have all of the other expansion packs, and they work fine, so why would I get something like that this time around?

For all you people getting the error :

Failed to enumerate any DirectX 9 compatible graphics adapters in this system!
Please make sure you have a DirectX 9 compatible graphics adapter and have installed the latest manufacturer provided driver.

At startup, Then heres a solutions:

Firstly make sure you are up to date with directx 9.
* Version, Directx 9.0c + Local updates.*

Then heres the clever bit:

Copy The crack into the local EAGAMES folder.
C:\program files\EA GAMES\apartment life\ (or whatever)

And over write the Game exe. Then going tsbin and over write ( With the same cracked EXE) the Game exe in there.

MAKE SURE TO BACK UP ALL THE ORIGINAL EXE’s

This cleared my issues, seems Maxis and EAGAMES are trying to cut down piracy. Wonder Why?

Okay… just wondering if anyone can help me out?? I’m still getting an error message at the end of the install, when it ensures that the product is up to date. I have most of the other games all installed, cracked, and working fine. This one just doesn’t want to work. Any ideas?

Hi everyone. I´m loosing my mind soon. I have extracted the files, and I have deamon tools to mount the image. The autorun doesnt work, so i try to double click on the disc where the icon is, BUT IT DOES NOT OPEN to install the game. Anyone know why? What should I do? It is so frustrating! Looking forward for your answer.

It wont let me copy, well it won’t let me copy the crack from the crack folder onto the disk … i’ll see if i can figure this out and come back. Thanks

When the install is almost over it asks me for update a canceled it and install terminates……why does that happens?

But it asks for uptade from cd, I don’t have cd obviously….which file do I need to mount? I just click on Autorun and install starts…..when I tried to mount that file it didn’t work…..Can you eksplain me the whole proces please…

i’ve installed the game months ago it works great
if the crack can’t be copied into

C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Apartment Life\TSBin
rar the crack
copy it into TSBIN and just drag it from the rar

my question is how do i use the update from the ea website?

when i install the update it asks me for the cd i installed the crack again,
but the updates don’t appear

I installed mine fine and put in the crack, but now when i open it it sez sum DirectX 9 compatible stuff, i was wondering if it is the file because all my other sims 2 work, so if any1 could tell me if it was just my video card i’l just go buy a new video card.

my problem is same as Hayds,my other sims2 can work,but this apartment life keeps getting an error with the directx9.0.
i can play aprtment life when i first install and all,but there’s error with the background grass landscape in the neighbourhood,and the wallpaper in the house,the colour keep blinking.

OMG! tried it once and it worked properly. I’ve moved the DL files on my desktop first. I used winRAR and extract the RAR file to the same folder. The using daemon tools I mount the RAR file and the installation pop out i selected english and there it goes. Installation is very quick. after i finished the installation I went back to desktop and opened the DL folder then crack folder and copied it content. Finally this is where you paste it. C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Apartment Life\TSBin.. very simple really.. hope this helps!!!

I have installed the game to my external hard drive, and i installed the crack provided, to the ts bin in the program files directory on my external hard drive…..this is where i have installed the game so the crack should be in the right place..right? Well i am getting the ‘failed to enumerate dirext x9 compatible drivers’ message and reading through forums and message boards like this i have read the same thing…it is because the crack is in the wrong place…..
I am using mojopac, which basically creates a windows on any removeable storage device’s.
I play tested university and nightlife in mojopac mode and it works perfectly,
I have seen that there is an ea games folder on my internal hard drive with all the expansion folders, i tried pasting the crack into the ts bin on there too…but it doesn’t work either?
I ran dxdiag and everything is all up to date on both hard drives.
Also downloaded latest driver for my video card….still stuck though.

In short i was wondering if anyone seems to be having the same problem and if its anything to do with it being on my external hard drive?

but now when i copy the .exe file from the crack folder to the TSbin, it says i don’t have enough room.
so i paste a shortcut to the desktop, and it says something about directx9???

PLEASE HELP!
