does this work for mac?

I have tried it for Mac and while the installer works fine, the game keeps telling me that it needs to go online. Whether I block it or allow it, it keeps failing as the website appears to be unreachable (probably because the game may not yet be released).

wow I need help, I installed the crack and keygen from the link above and I extracted the TSR.exe into the Game/bin and than I clicked on the sims 3 icon on my desktop and hit play, but they tell me I need to enter full conformation code that I can find online :S what should I do?

@sonny: what is a reloaded version? and where can I get that? and dvd image? Im not really good with this :/

I copied it to the Game/bin folder yes and nothing came up, no box that told me to replace anything, and yeah I think I copied it install folder, where is dvd image

@Nikki : U have to mount the winrar file in Daemon Tools Lite. Daemon Tools will create a virtual dvd player on your computer. (search google). If you mount the rar file in daemon tools, then you will be able to install the game. Then use a serial key from this site, and follow crack instructions.

for all who are interested on getting the reloaded version working on mac. IT IS POSSIBLE!!!! after fooling around a bit i finally got it to work, it does use the windows binary and the reloaded crack included works for the mac version! u just need a way to run the keygen exe on mac. im new to mac so im not sure how to do that part i just used my windows machine. so mount the iso and install using a generated key. now for the fun part that took me a while to figure out. but is actually pretty simple. now go into the install directory and control click on the sims 3 app and click on show package contents. then go to contents/resources/transgaming/c drive/program files/the sims 3/game/bin and replace TS3.exe with the supplied reloaded version. PRESTO fully working sims 3 on mac YEAAAAAAAAA. thats it have fun!

ok its telling me to check my games graphics card… what the hell? this laptop is only 6 months old and i can play sims 2/world of warcraft on it fine. whats the problem?

I have installed the game and copied the crack to the correct folder but whenever I start the game it seems to start loading and then just stops. No error message or anything happens. I tried starting it from the launcher and from the crack in the bin folder and it’s the same. I checked all the requirements and I meet them all so I have no clue why this doesn’t work. I’m going to try reinstalling it, does anyone know if there’s any program better than daemon tools? I heard using that to mount may cause issues w/ this game..

Whenever I click the Sims3Setup or anything it just tells me that it’s not compatible with my version of Windows. I have Vista SP 1 64-bit. I know others with the same OS and they have installed it. Anyone know why I can’t?

Ok… I seriously need help. I did everything right: unrar the image file, mounted it, installed the game. While it installed I kept getting CRC errors though, but it still installed successfully. Then I placed the crack in the /game/bin file. BUT, whenever I launch the game, this error comes up: “Service Initialization failed (0×024e424f)” …. I can’t play the game after all of this… I’m so frustrated. PLEASE, if anyone knows what could have gone wrong, give me some help!!

ATTN MAC USERS:

To install this game you’ll need an application like Toast 8, which can mount CD images. If you get Toast 8 via a torrent, you can install that then right click the sims .iso and select ‘mount’ (it should be under ‘more’). From there you should be able to install it (though on my copy of the game, I get an architecture error).

For all of you guys, when you copy the TS3 file, you DO NOT paste it in the bin folder of your virtual drive(there’s obviously not enough space), you paste it on your REAL drive (C:/->Program Files->Electronic Arts->The Sims->Game->Bin) got it? Enjoy!

GOT IT WORKING!!! I installed and cracked it, but whenever I would try to load the game it would immediately crash back to the desktop, no error message. I had updated all my drivers, and I meet comp specs (vista x64, intel duo 2 x 2.0ghz, Ati radeon x1550, 2g ram, directx10 etc). I was going crazy. Fixed by installing a net framework and c++ update, found through windows update. They were optional and I had to start them manually. When my computer restarted, the game worked!! Hope this works for you if you have the same problem.

If you are asked for a key after installation (on launch) – Uninstall EA Download manager (EDAM) and the game, then reinstall the game NOT the EADM. Make sure you are offline the whole time. It’s common, read through the comments for more info. BTW- Don’t register online or let the game connect. You are using a pirate copy, so this would not be smart.

If you are getting errors on installation do a hash check on your downloaded files through utorrent (or similar) to check for corruption. It might say 100% but you could be missing pieces. This happened to me with a corrupted download.

PEOPLE- the comments are useful!! Read through before posting because your problems are common and resolvable!

It works on my Vista laptop, but the graphics aren’t wonderful due to integrated graphics card and only having a 2.0GHz processor. I want to try it on my macbook because it has a higher spec. When I tried installing I got the error “Error reading game files $INSTALLVOLUME/GameData/”
I suspect it may have something to do with my mac not seeing a lot of the files that I could see on my PC, so I’m not sure what to do. I don’t have a flash drive large enough to carry the whole iso file so I had to take the extracted parts separately and put them in the places they were on my PC. Please help D:

I’m using Mac 10.5.7
I have sims installed, I already crack it by replacing Info.plist and TS3.exe file.
But after I run it, it doesn’t work.
Pop up windows saying “Unable to start game” appear.

I installed the game, and copied the crack (TS3.exe) in the folder game/bin… if i try opening the game, when i click on the Play button it opens a MS-Dos black window…. and then NOTHING HAPPENS!! Please help me

Here is the problem that I am having… I have a mac. I got the install completed, but when i have to insert that plist file into the contents folder, it says that the folder cannot be modified. So yeah, that now doesn’t work.

Also I think the biggest problem is that when it tells me to go to: resources/transgaming and put the crack in… There is no transgaming folder, or anything close to that… So does anyone have any suggestions on what to do?

@anon you don’t need the registration code, keygen and the crack are totally different things, you have to replace the crack.exe with the original ts3.exe in the game/bin.

used DTools Lite to mount the iso file
and that is as far as it let me get. What am I doing wrong?

I am having the same problem as MEA and JANI, i press the play button and a black screen appears for 5-6 seconds and then dissapears almpst like a crash to desktop.

@Christy: Having the same problem on my XP laptop with Service Pack 2. I have an NVide GeForce4 440 Go, 64 MB memory. It works fine on my Vista laptop, but it’s a far superior computer. Any idea how to get it to work on the XP? Does anyone know some start up parameters I can use or a config file I can change that may drop the graphic quality low enough to run, or run it windowed mode? (How do I run it in windowed mode?)

BUY THE GAME: Nobody answered the question to some Mac-users about how to change plist-file in a protected read-only-folder namend “Content” There is no way to get around this (by my knowledge) also not via Terminal (sudo chmod…etc etc). It is not possible to make to folder privileges to “read and write”.
Finally I bought the game for eur. 60,-; it will be sent to my home in a nice box and some extra gadgets. Gives a good feeling; maybe by buying the game I contribute to future development budget so that a really intelligent SimCity 6-game will be developed.

Has anyone fixed the crash problems with the Sims 3. I have a hunch of the reason why its crashing. I read somwhere that the reason for the sims 3 crashing is because we have the unfinished version. Which means we have the one that was going to be sent out in feburary. I also noticed before i started the game it said this “You are playing a non-final, unauthorized copy of The Sims 3. Purchasing and registering an official copy of The Sims 3 will entitle you to benefits including access to an entirely new game town called Riverview, 1000 SimPoints which can be redeemed for game objects in The Sims 3 Store, and access to The Sims 3 Exchange.” So i advise everyone to uninstall your version of TheSims3 next week thursday in the night so that you can install the real version. By the way before you uninstall make sure you move the Electronic Arts from my documents and paste it to your desktop so when you finally install the sims 3 you can carry on from where you left off without any of these stupid problems every1 has had

Thanks Kels, ive installed it how you said and it come up with that pre-start screen where you press play, but then the screen just goes black for about 5 seconds and then it closes back to the desktop.

Its so frustrating! Is it just that this is pre-release and will have loads of issues or is it something ive done wrong?

Rob i think the version and the other people have of the game might not be the full version the one i downloaded only a couple of people downloaded and it was 5.92 gb. it’s also a torrent. IF THE VERSION U HAVE IS 4 GB OR 3GB IT MIGHT NOT CONSIST OF ALL THE FILES THE GAME SHOULD HAVE 2 LOAD CORRECTLY.

I KNOW I INSTALLED AND UNISTALLED THE GAME 7 TIMES!!!!!!!! AND I FOUND OUT THE LOCATION OF THE GAME’S FILES CAN MAKE THE GAME ACT STUPID BUT MINES WORKS PERFECT NO PROBLEMS WHAT SO EVER. EVERYONE CHECK THE SIZE OF YOUR ISO FILE

@Christy: I’m having this problem too, as I said before. It won’t matter if you reinstall it. I used the same ISO to install it on my Vista laptop, and it works fine. My XP laptop is the one giving me the error. I have a Dell c840 NVIDIA GeForce4 440 graphics card. It’s just too old to run it. It doesn’t have shader model 2 support, whatever that means, and most likely can’t be updated with any software fix for it. Your problem is the same. You need a new graphics card. Or maybe someone can tell us how to adjust the default settings for running the game to the lowest performance and/or how to run it in windowed mode. That may not require a superior graphics card.

OKAY PEPOLE THIS SHOULD SOLVE ALOT PROBLEMS. MINES WORKS

I DID NOT MOUNT THE ISO FILE U DON’T HAVE 2!!!!

1. make sure u download winrar
2. click on the sims 3 iso file and choose open with winrar
3. extract all files to a specific folder on your computer
4. sims 3 setup should be included once all files have been extracted

IF U HAVE BEEN GETTING THAT CRC ERROR YOUR FILES WERE DAMAGED
but that can be fixed just simply extract all the files from the iso file in winrar.

DURING SETUP IF CRC ERROR COMES UP U DID NOT COMPLETELY EXTRACT THAT CERTAIN FILE.

IF SETUP ASKS U 2 INSERT THE DISK OR PATH OF A CERTAIN FILE JUST PUT IN WHERE THE FILE IS LOCATED.

ok here is the part where u have 2 replace the TS3 FILE

go to computer/(c:)/game/bin and find TS3 click it and rename it as TS3 orginal because u will need it 4 later use

once renamed cut it from the bin and paste it to your documents folder

after that find the crack don’t rename that one keep it as it and paste it where the orginal TS3 was.

Okay…so I’m trying to mount the game onto a disc from the iso however it says that the file is too large for the cd I’m using to burn it on.

I’m using dvd+rw 4.7gb maxell cd.

one thing about the game i don’t like is the buildings. when yur sim goes in you can’t see what there doing and the real release won’t let you either.

but you can customive everything its just sooooo cool!!!!!

Follow the steps below:

1- Copy the Sims 3 disc to to your computer
2- Rename “Sims3Setup.exe” to “Setup.exe”.
3- Right click “Setup.exe” and choose “Open with WinRAR”
4- Now select the “Sims3Setup.exe” and “codec.exe” inside and extract in the installation folder.
5- Run Sims3Setup.exe

Ok, for mac, once you’ve gotten the crack put into the right folder hidden in the package, you just need to go to Contents/MacOS/ and run the cider unix executable script to launch. It’ll bypass the launcher, getting rid of that pesky “insert disc” message. You can even make an alias of that script on the desktop and just use that to launch. Unfortunately, this means you don’t get anything that the launcher gives…but that’s mostly just ads and spam anyways.
Note: I have a legitimate copy of the game, but my MBP has decided to refuse to read DVD-DL’s, so I was stuck doing this to be able to play. I don’t know if it’ll allow updates, but that’ll be my next thing to see I guess.

Hi! I’ve been reading through the posts, but I can’t seem to find an answer. I have a mac and I have downloaded the ISO file, which contained the install and the crack folder which contains two files: rld-sims3.exe and TS3.exe. I haven’t done anything with these files, I just ahead and installed. The install worked, and I can open the game, but after I press the play button, it asks me for the registration code. So what do I need to do? I saw the explanation for windows, but since I’m on a mac I’m not sure what to do. Thanks!

I’m also getting those CRC errors when installing the game. I have tried all the maneuvers Kels has shared but nothing seems to change and the installation never asks me for file paths. Its just abort- retry- or ignore. I tried ignoring the whole thing and I get an unhandeled exception error.

Oh man, I go it to ask me where the sunsetvalley cache file is located along with the rest of the stuff. I pointed the installer to /C: like Kels said but the damn thing still gave me a CRC. I downloaded the Razor 1911 btw, and yes I got the two rar part files fix so I’m positive my files and iso aren’t corrupt.

Tip: Solved my problem. Works on a Mac, here’s a workaround for the people who get the “Please insert The Sims 3″ message at the Sims launcher.

Go into package contents and enter the MacOS folder. Open the ‘cider’ file with Terminal

And Game Starts.
Thats it!

You must have the “TS3.exe” and “Info.plist” Crack Installed

I followed all the steps that Wolfeatmouse described then i click on the sims3 logo and the launcher starts now i get a message saying “ther’s an upgrade awailiable blablabla…” I once did the upgrade but then it told me to re-install the game wich I did but then it just wants me to upgrade again but.. this is really not my problem…
If I click ‘no’ on upgrading and then press the play button in the launcher it just asks me to incert the cd labeled with the sims 3…
What am I supposed to do? Please help me!!!

I downloaded an ISO file of the Sims 3 (it’s about 5.9 GB) and have tried mounting it with magic ISO, Daemon Tools Lite and Daemon Tools Pro and every time the same thing happens! I open the virtual drive, double click on the setup installer icon, and then a blank box saying “Microsoft.NET Framework” keeps popping up and then going away. It won’t stop doing this until I unmount the virtual drive!
What should I do?

Fuck i still cant get a key gen for the fucking blocker before you start the game… any way
1.if you don’t have WinRar. get it. because it worked for me. when i got the .ISO file i just right clicked and clicked “EXTRACT” (this takes a long time.)(not as long as downloading haha) its going to ask you where you want it don’t do anything, just keep it defaulted. it will then extract to the same file as the iso.
2. go into the Extracted folder this would be in the same place as the iso now. just the difference is the file looks normal….
3. in the file there should be a file that SAYS “Auto run” yea go ahead and click on that… it should start Installing, congrats.

In installed it using the instructions, but I have a problem with the crack.
I have copy pasted the crack into Game/ Bin, but he doesnt ask for replacing.
there is no other file in that is called TS3.exe in Bin. there is a file called TS3.ex_ and that is 16.934 kb. this is the only file that has a name simular to the crack.
I have tried removing it and placing the crack instead but that doesnt work.

when i start the game i still get the registrationcode question

ok FOR MAC USERS. since we didnt really get a straight answer. anyways i was poking around and tried doing this. and it WORKED!

first after you installed the game, you have the crack folder right? just copy the ts3.exe file.
then go to APPLICATIONS/The Sims tm 3/the sims 3.app <— right click it and click SHOW PACKAGE CONTENTS

after that, go to CONTENTS/RESOURCES/TRANSGAMING/C_DRIVE/PROGRAM FILES/ELECTRONIC ARTS/THE SIMS 3/GAME/BIN/

and PASTE TS3.EXE into that folder.

PLS RENAME THE ORIGINAL FILE (in that folder) TS3.EXE TO TS3ORIG.EXE BEFORE pasting the cracked ts3.exe file

it should work when you open the sims 3.app

And guys, the game works for me because with Kaspersky I block the launcher to connect with the internet, so EA does not find that the game is pirated and not have any problems.
But i say again…

1º Download the game

2º Install the game with the keygen (I scanned with KIS 2009 and it’s 100% clean)

3º Find the crack, I don’t remember where because I have this installed be so long

4º Right botton in the crack and select Copy

5º Go to C:\Programas\Electronic Arts\Os Sims 3\Game\Bin and in a white space, click in the right botton and select past

6º It ask if you want replace the file, say YES

7º Go to your firewall and block the game from connect with te Internet

8º Play the game

* If the game works, is not necessary update for the Razor version, I play the game and it hasn’t bugs and the sims 3 store addons works too

for all who are interested on getting the reloaded version working on mac. IT IS POSSIBLE!!!! after fooling around a bit i finally got it to work, it does use the windows binary and the reloaded crack included works for the mac version! u just need a way to run the keygen exe on mac. im new to mac so im not sure how to do that part i just used my windows machine. so mount the iso and install using a generated key. now for the fun part that took me a while to figure out. but is actually pretty simple. now go into the install directory and control click on the sims 3 app and click on show package contents. then go to contents/resources/transgaming/c drive/program files/the sims 3/game/bin and replace TS3.exe with the supplied reloaded version. PRESTO fully working sims 3 on mac YEAAAAAAAAA. thats it have fun!

How do you firewall Sims 3? My firewall is on, and I checked a few times and Sims 3 is not included in the list of exceptions from Firewall, so I am thinking that it’s probably already firewalled.

My problem is that Sims 3 always prompts me to register online. Although my firewall is on, it keeps on doing it. I can’t register online since I don’t have the “unique” registration key.

When I go through terminal (cider etc) It launches and will work until it gets to where you choose a neighborhood. It asks for the CD again. if still don’t work maybe you hdd have some bad sectors, or you don’t have luck to install this version.

hello peeps! i need your help! i have installed sims3 and tried to copy the cracked file (TS3.exe) but it wouldnt let me copy it to the bin of sims 3 in my program files. I do not know or understand why. can someone pls help? thank you

Ok, so I installed the game & started it up fine but I had forgotten to copy the crack over so when it got to the main menu a message saying “we cannot verify that your copy of the game is legitimate, please contact customer service” popped up. So I copied the crack over asap & tried to start the game. The launcher comes up but upon pressing the play button, the launcher disappears & nothing happens. I tried restarting my computer, using another crack & even reinstalling the game, making sure to copy the crack over before launching but still nothing happens. Has the first time starting without the crack screwed it up for good or is there something else wrong? Thanks in advance for any suggestions

Try to install the game but can’t manage to end the installation: it’s asking me to find the way of access for a file (support\EA_HELP\Cz\EA_HELP_UK.log).
So I localized it but it doesn’t want to accept the way (wich i’m quite sure is the right…)
Any advice ?

i copied the (ts3) file from the crack folder to C:\Programfile\ElectronicArt\Thesim3\Game\Bin
then after that i started to install the ‘TheSims3-InstallShieldWizard’
during the installing process , a pop up titled ‘Setup Needs The next disks”
and it says :”pls insert disk 1 that contains the file Caches\Sunsetvalley.objectCache.”
under this msg they give a column written there
Path:
D:_____________________________________ [Browse]
so after all..i write this in the path coloum ‘C:\Programfile\ElectronicArt\TheSim3\Game\Bin’
so ano0ther pop up written :SETUP COULD NOT FIND A FILE ON THE SPECIFIC PATH OR DISK.
please check that the proper disk is inserted or specify a new path ”
so after all de installation fail ????

I have to agree with Chris, that is by all mean an exciting subject but i couldn’t commit any time to carrying out what that you are suggesting. It seems plausible that if people today are critical concerning the problem then they would, but who has time to implement nowadays, my days are filled with finding issues i needs to be performing and then never implementing them. hey!!!i got a problem….i try to launch the game but it asks me to enter the key!!!i enter the one that i have generated but immediately it asks me to put it again and again!!!and in the end it tells me that this code is not valid!!

well i installed it.. it went well… it ask for me to update the game so i did…
then when i start the game it says

but we all know their going to charge us for cash!

so i went to search my DLL for the crack folder and copied The TS3.exe and paste it on my game in bin folder replacing the old one.. when i start the game or double click TS3.exe my monitor just loses its background… and the game doesn’t even starts!
and i was like damn! what is wrong with this thing!

what video card do you have ?
this may be cause of error, or you may need to install some updates

i am using windows 7 64 bit…….my sims 3 works only once..as in…when i restart the computer….and click on ts3.exe…it says…its not a valid win32 application…damn…do i need a 64 bit crack for it…….guyssss plzzzzz help

probably you did something at your sims install or your windows, try to install an update or copy the crack again

Hi, I can start the game, but later after loading the game is closed and return to windows desktop before I played.
I try to install the patches, but there is always an error said “invalid data found”.
